Social Issue PSA

My social issue was body image. I wanted to make an ad that showed that its whats on the inside that matters. I choose to do this because its a big issue that effects many people especially in high school. I hope that it will show that inner beauty is more important and society shouldn't focus on appearance as much. My target audience is girls 15-19 in high school. My usp is using different words and pictures to capture attention. My slogan is look beyond the surface. I feel like the project turned out well especially since I changed my issue at the last minute and changed my ads a few times. I would tell someone to plan out what they want to do and then have a few ideas so if one doesn't work out there is a back up plan. The most challenging part for me was just trying to find a way to show inner beauty and make the two pieces look like they belong together. I think i did well with my poster because i had an idea and it ended up working out really well and i really like it.

Advertising Shooting Assignment

Social Issue: Body Image; its not all about appearance and its whats on the inside that counts. I liked the project, but all the snow made it difficult. I originally wanted to do a different topic and take pictures outside but with all the snow it didn't work out. For changing my idea i think the project photos turned out to my liking and i think i can make something really interesting from them.

Project Proposal

  1. What social issue do you plan to build an advertising campaign around?  Military and Freedom
  2. What is your personal reason for choosing this issue? I'm doing this because I have family in the military and they risk their lives for us everyday and many people don't remember that.
  3. Why should people be concerned about the issue? People should be concerned because they give us many of the freedoms that we have today.
  4. How can you motivate people to care about this cause? Try to persuade them with something that draws their attention.
  5. Research nonprofit organizations that are associated with the cause. There are many nonprofit organizations set up to help the military. About 7 or 8% return home from combat with PTSD. They risk their life for us.
